What is THC Anyway?
We all know that tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the psychotropic substance in the cannabis plant that gets us high. But, in recent years, it has become clear that there are different forms of THC, including Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol (Delta 8 THC), Delta-8-Tetrahydrocannabinol (Delta 8 THC), Delta-10-Tetrahydrocannabinol (Delta 10 THC), THC-O Acetate (THC-O) and Tetrahydrocannabiphorol (THC-P). Each one is unique and produces different effects. You can refer to our previous post if you want to learn what is the difference between THC-O & THC-P, but In this post, we’ll focus on one cannabinoid—Delta 8.
Comparing Delta 8 vs. Delta 9 THC
Delta 8 is a natural-occurring cannabinoid and an isomer of Delta 9. While they produce a similar psychotropic effect, the effect of Delta 8 is much milder. It has the same potential therapeutic benefits as Delta 9, but without the intense, overwhelming, and sometimes unpleasant “high.” There is a slight difference in the molecular structure of Delta 8 and Delta 9—this affects how the cannabinoid binds to receptors in the body and ultimately determines the intensity of its effects.
Another critical difference between Delta 8 and Delta 9 is how they’re sourced. Like CBD which is found in both cannabis and hemp plants, one is in higher doses and is a better choice for extraction. Delta 9 is primarily derived from cannabis strains, Delta 8 is sourced from hemp, which typically has a lower level of Delta 9.
How Much THC is in a Delta 8 Product?
To explain how much THC is in Delta 8, we need to establish a basic understanding. For years, whenever anyone said THC, they were referring to Delta 9. While that term takes on a new light with the surging popularity of other cannabinoid products today, its use largely remains the same.
So, if you’re trying to determine how much THC is in a Delta 8 product, check for the level of Delta 9. The Delta 8 products on the market today contain different levels of Delta 9, depending on the manufacturer. There are pure Delta 8 Gummies as well as Delta 8 + Delta 9 Gummies.
In states where the recreational use of cannabis has not been legalized, you’re more likely to find Delta 8 THC products that contain 0.3% or less of Delta 9. This is because, according to the 2018 Farm Bill (which legalized the sale and use of hemp products), all hemp-derived products must contain 0.3% or less of Delta 9 to be federally legal.
If you are unsure about the level of THC in a Delta 8 product, we recommend checking the product's label. Also, check the manufacturer’s website. If you can’t find it anywhere, we recommend you do not take the product. Transparency is vital in the cannabis market, and if a manufacturer is not upfront about the content of its products, the chances are that they have something to hide.

I live in Texas so it’s not legal here yet so I absolutely love your product a lot of people here talk a lot of crap about Delta and Delta 9 but the funny part is I don’t think they really know what they’re talking about they think it’s synthetic sprayed on chemicals when I know that’s not the case especially after reading your website, it’s hands down the dope is dope I’ve ever smoked legally down here in Texas, so thanks!!!!
